Jena C. Henry
Jena C. Henry is a writer, blogger, book reviewer, and bon vivant. Her goal is to make friends with everyone in the world. Jena enjoys reading new books and encouraging writers to be their best. Jena C. Henry holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Akron and practiced law and raised her family in tropical Ohio. Now retired, she writes novels, conducts writing workshops and enjoys good times with friends and family. Her fiction series, The Golden Age of Charli, spotlights the love and laughter of family life and retirement.
Jena has been an avid reader her whole life. As a child, a librarian showed her the shelf with all the book series, wonderful stories like the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle series by Betty MacDonald and all the beloved books by Beverly Cleary. She read everything in the children's room and kept on reading. School gave her plenty of opportunities to develop her creative writing skills. Jena studied speech pathology in college and worked as a therapist for about ten years before completing a law degree. She worked in private practice and for corporations, and also then joined the non-profit world. Jena has been an eager volunteer for arts organizations.
Jena enjoys her family, creative cooking, fine and fun dining, cheering on her local major league baseball and basketball teams, walking her dog and sitting on her boat in the marina. Although she loves to stay at home and read on her front porch, she travels through the United States and has even gone as far as Australia and China.
All of these work and personal experiences stimulated her lifelong desire to write. A few years ago, her husband said to her, “You’ve always wanted to write a book. You’d better get started before it’s too late.” So she did! She created the three book series, The Golden Age of Charli and is pleased to share her funny, yet thoughtful novels with readers.
