Hounded 2

Ashley remained under Sam’s mutilated leftovers, a fragment of skeleton with some tissue left in sporadic areas. The zombie dogs and human zombies wandered away. Where did they go? Ashley wondered as she slowly pushed Sam’s waste from her.
Getting to her feet, she walked down the middle of the street. A few hundred feet in, she came across another couple of zombie dogs. The hairs on her arms tried to prickle up, but they were glued down from all of Sam’s blood. She moved to the other side, quietly stepping over debris, and made her way past.
Suddenly, from the left side, one of them advanced toward her. Her heart thudded harder. Her legs felt like jelly and she crumpled to the concrete in a blubbering heap.
“I’m dead, this is it,” she said in a whisper.

Bellamy Foster leads his group of survivors on a perilous journey. Not only must he find a sanctuary for them all, but he is also on a quest to find his twin brother, Calloway. Currently being stalked by raging, hungry, vicious zombie dogs, they become aware of a new, more sinister, threat. The infected SB-16 coma patients are now becoming vile, ravenous, and monstrous human zombies. Will the survivors find a new sanctuary in time to save themselves and what remains of the shattered world around them? Hounded 2 is an explicit horror – full of spattered slaughter, love and loss, fast-moving action, and a maze of unexpected destruction, that is sure to keep you turning pages late into the night. In this, her second novel, Ellie Douglas proves there’s plenty of rot to ooze out of the zombie genre.

I was terrified to be honest. My girl she laughs at me, only this time when I read aloud parts of Hounded to her she cringed and her face turned white. So now she’s reading it. This book is not only filled with terrifying horror mouth dropping moments but it has a great story. The characters are amongst the best I’ve ever read, with so much depth and charisma. OK I will tell you, during this book I pretended that I was Bellamy and my girlfriend pretended she was Lily. Lets just say role playing out this book was like watching a movie which they should do, turn this into one. I loved all the characters Bellamy is my favourite and I want to see more of him in every book from Douglas. If I could rate this a thousand stars I would. I got taken into an apocalyptic world that scared me good. Thank god we don’t own a dog. I doubt I’m gonna be able to walk in the park and see dogs in the same light ever again. Jesus, how did Douglas do that. She scared me through pages I never imagined could happen let alone be admitting it to whoever reads this. Thanks Douglas on a fine master piece of excellent story telling.
