Misty watches Drake fly over to the island in the middle of the large pond. Drake looks out into the pond and sees his true love, Misty, and their three little baby ducks swimming on the other side of the pond. He quacks and quacks until she comes over and joins him on the island. Drake is very happy now that his family is close to him.
Drake, Misty, and their three little baby ducks live in a beautiful park with two ponds in Whitewright, Texas. Drake is very proud of his three little baby ducks. Their baby ducks are named Stone, Stormi and Wendy. Drake is the oldest duck in the pond and he is the ruler of the park. There are many ducks that live in the park. They are all different kinds and colors. Drake is black and has a red patch around both of his eyes. Some of Drake's feathers turn blue and green when the sun hits them. Drake is the father of many of the ducks in the park. Drake loves Misty with all his heart. He protects Misty and his baby ducks from danger. In fact, he protects all of the ducks in the park every day! Drake is big and strong. Adult ducks are fast fliers too. Drake is a Muscovy duck.
Most ducks are smaller than swans and geese. A baby duck is called a duckling or a chick. A female duck is called a hen and a male duck is called a drake. Ducks can be found in fresh water or seawater.
A squirrel named Rocky also lives in the park and loves to eat the pecans that fall out of the two pecan trees. Rocky has fun climbing up and down all of the trees in the park. Rocky likes to climb way up high in the trees. There are all different kinds of trees in the park. The trees provide good shade for everyone because it is so hot in Texas during the summer months. One of the trees has a huge split in the middle of it. Misty will make her nest inside that tree and lay her eggs in there every year during spring. That is where many of Drake's ducklings were hatched.
Spring is the best time to visit the park because you will see all the ducklings running around! The ducklings always stay close to their mother. They are cute and so much fun to watch. During spring all of the flowers are blooming and the park is just beautiful with rose bushes all around it.
The park has a walking trail where people come to walk when the weather is nice. The park has benches where people come to relax and read books. The park is so pretty during spring that they have weddings at the park.
There is a monument in the park that is dedicated to honor the memory of four fallen soldiers killed in the Vietnam War.
The ducks will walk across the road to the smaller pond. If cars come down the road, they always stop and let the ducks cross the road. The people all around the park love the ducks and will always watch out for them in the road. It is beyond cute when Misty and her three ducklings cross the road!
There are tons of fish that live in the pond. Sometimes you can see a turtle swimming around in the pond, or even a green snake! The turtle's name is Shelly and the green snake's name is Dracula. There is a huge bullfrog that lives in the pond and you can hear him croaking all the time. His name is Slimy. Slimy likes to hop from one lily pad to another and then dive down into the pond. He likes to reach out with his long tongue and grab a water spider.

Mindy bought Molly from a breeder in Oklahoma. Mindy was so excited to finally bring Molly home. Molly was hand-fed and hand-raised by the breeder. She was very tame and so gentle.
The breeder called Mindy and said, "You better come over right now! Molly is hatching out of her egg!" Mindy rushed over to the breeder's house so she could watch Molly hatch out of her egg. Mindy got there just in time to see it. That is when she fell in love with Molly. She took several pictures and even recorded a video. It was so exciting! After Molly hatched out of her egg, Mindy went to the breeder's house to visit as often as she could. She was able to hold Molly when she was just a few days old.
Mindy had always wanted a macaw. She even dreamed about owning one. Now her dream was coming true! She had always thought macaws were beautiful.

One day, Mindy had to call a repairman to her house because her washer quit working. The repairman came and fixed Mindy's washer.
Late that night Mindy and Magnum were upstairs sleeping, while Molly was downstairs sleeping in her cage. The repairman came back to their house and broke in the back door! He had a cage with him and grabbed Molly. He shoved Molly in the cage. Molly started screaming! Then Molly screamed, "Magnum!" He took off running out the back door with her. Magnum had heard the burglar break in, and he also heard Molly screaming his name. Magnum took off racing down the stairs and chased after the burglar. There was no way Magnum would let this burglar steal his sweet best friend Molly. Magnum caught up to the burglar and pounced on him with all of his weight! The burglar fell to the ground and Magnum held him down. Mindy heard all of the noise and had already called the police. She came running out the back door and saw Magnum on top of the burglar! She yelled, "Good boy Magnum!" Every time the burglar tried to get up, Magnum started growling at him. The burglar was very scared of Magnum, so he stopped fighting. Magnum was very proud that he had saved Molly and was able to stop the thief. Molly was okay, but she was very shaken up. Her cage had fallen down to the ground and rolled over when Magnum pounced on the burglar. Mindy was glad that Molly was safe.
Mango is a Sun Conure or Sun Parakeet, and Kiwi is a Double Yellow-Headed Amazon Parrot. Their owner Trina lives in Oklahoma, and she bought both of them at a Bird Fair in Tulsa. Trina saw so many lovely birds at the Bird Fair that it was very hard to decide which birds she wanted to take home. She finally picked a Sun Conure and a Double Yellow-Headed Amazon Parrot. She fell in love with all the colorful feathers that they have. Trina took both birds home and became very attached to them in no time at all. Trina thought they were both sweet and beautiful.
She put their cages close to a window so they could see outside. Her birds were able to enjoy all the wild birds and animals that came around Trina's house. Her house has a fantastic view of Keystone Lake. It is in the country surrounded by thick woods.
The next day she gave Mango and Kiwi a bath. She put both of them in the shower on a shower perch. They enjoyed their shower and then she blow-dried both of them until they were all nice and fluffy. Mango and Kiwi looked so pretty.
Mango loves to eat popcorn. He also likes to eat large noodles. He uses his feet like hands to help him eat. Trina took pictures of Mango eating popcorn and large noodles.
Trina has a large guard dog named Smoke. Smoke is a black Chow. He sleeps right next to Trina's bed each night. Smoke makes Trina feel very safe.
Trina enjoys the visitors that come to her house each day. She never knows what will show up outside on her back porch. She looked out one day and saw two turkeys stepping up on her back porch! Then the two turkeys jumped up on her back patio table and started eating the birdseed that she had put out for the wild birds. She thought that was pretty wild and loved watching the turkeys. One of the turkeys walked right up to her back glass door. Then the turkey spread its tail feathers all the way out. It was amazing to watch up close. Turkeys have beautiful feathers.
Trina has a large pine tree just outside her living room window in the front of her house. She planted the pine tree from a little seedling. There is a beautiful Mourning Dove who lives in the pine tree! Everyone loves to watch the dove from the front window. She named the dove Lonesome. She feeds him birdseed every day. There are also two stray chickens that showed up and now live in the thick bushes in the front of her house. She puts a pile of birdseed out for the chickens too. She named the chickens Butter Rump and Butternut.
It was very late in the evening and Trina was in bed sleeping when Smoke woke her up barking. He took off running to the back door barking even louder and growling. Trina jumped up and ran to see why Smoke was barking. Mango and Kiwi started screaming. She looked over at the back door and saw a coyote in her house! Smoke attacked the coyote, and the coyote ran back out the doggie door. After that scary night, she closed the doggie door so they would all be safe from wild animals coming into the house. She thought the coyote looked sick, so Trina took Smoke to the animal hospital. The coyote had bitten Smoke on his back leg. Smoke had to have several stitches put in his leg and they gave him a shot so he wouldn't get sick. Smoke was a hero! He had saved Trina from the coyote.
A couple of days later, Mango and Kiwi both started screaming. Trina ran over to look out the window to see what was scaring her birds. Her mouth dropped open. There was a large Black Panther on her back porch! She knew there were Black Panthers in Oklahoma, but she had never seen one. She thought it was gorgeous. You can live in Oklahoma your whole life and never see one. Suddenly, she saw another Black Panther! This one was smaller and came up right behind the large Black Panther. Both of the Black Panthers sniffed all around the back porch until the large Black Panther saw Trina. As soon as it saw Trina, it got spooked and took off running.
I am 5,000 years old, and I cannot wait for someone to find me and finally set me free. My name is Ammon, and I am a genie. I am trapped in my lamp and buried deep in the sand somewhere in the desert of Egypt.
Wait just a minute. I hear someone digging nearby. Maybe they will find me! I hope they are nice. I want a nice master this time. My last master was a very mean old man. I did not like him at all. He was the one that trapped me in my lamp and buried me in the sand! He became angry with me because I would not do something bad that he wanted. Someone is picking up my lamp now. They have found me! They are opening the lid to my lamp, and I am free at last! It is a young girl who has found me. She was very shocked when I came floating out of my lamp in a puff of red smoke. I told her that I was a genie, and she was my new master. She was very excited because she knew that genies could grant wishes. She could not believe that she found a genie lamp. She said she thought I was a very cute genie too.
I told her my name was Ammon. Ammon is an Egyptian name that means "unseen" or "hidden." She told me her name was Nile, and it is also an Egyptian name that means "from the Nile." She also told me that she decided to dig around in the sand that afternoon by her house. She said she loved to dig in the sand because she would always find old things there. One day she found an old gold coin! She told me that this was the best thing she had ever found while living in Egypt. She said she was born in Egypt, and she was ten years old. She said her mother was from The United States and was born in Texas. She was amazed when I told her that I was 5,000 years old! All genies live to be one million years old! I asked her what year it was. When she told me what year it was, I realized I had been buried in the sand for almost 100 years!
She told me that her first wish was to ride a camel. She had always wanted to ride a camel since she was a little girl. POOF! I granted her first wish, and suddenly a camel appeared out of a huge puff of white smoke! I took her riding on the camel all around the pyramids of Egypt. We had so much fun that day. I told her that I would grant her one wish every day.
Later that day, she told me to get back into my lamp so she could bring me home with her. She said she would have to hide me from her mother. I did not want to get back into my lamp so soon, but I did. She took me to her house. She was a beautiful young girl and very sweet. I was very happy to have such a nice master this time.
Nile hid me in her room that night. She was so excited that she could hardly sleep. She knew that the fun was about to begin. I slept in my lamp. I told her that I could make myself invisible if I ever heard her mother coming into her room when I was out of my lamp. She was glad to hear that. She didn't want her mother finding me. She knew her mother would never believe that I was a genie. She said we would have to be very careful.
Nile told me that she was afraid it had just been a dream. She was so glad to see me there when she woke up the next morning. That day, Nile took me with her when she left her house. I asked her what her second wish was for the day. She told me that she wanted to go exploring inside a tomb. POOF! After a huge puff of white smoke, we were inside a tomb! We went exploring all through the old tomb. We saw a bunch of gold treasures placed all around the tomb. Everything in the tomb was hundreds of years old. We had another great day. My new master was so much fun to be around. I told her that I would always protect her too.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Will, happy birthday to you." Everyone is singing happy birthday to Will. It is Will's birthday party and he is 10 years old. His mother surprises him with a special gift. She gives him a Congo African Grey Parrot! He is so excited and gives his mother a huge bear hug. He names his parrot Congo. Congo is very tame and has been hand raised by a breeder in Oklahoma. His mother had the bird flown in from Oklahoma.
Congo and Will live in Africa. His mother works in Africa helping the people of Africa to get fresh clean water. Sometimes his mother will take him to work with her, and he gets to visit some of the local tribes in Africa. Africa is very different from The United States where they used to live. Will and his mother are from Oklahoma. Will always brings Congo with him when he goes to visit the tribes. The tribes have never seen a parrot that is tame before. They don't know what to think about Congo sitting on his shoulder. All the children want to hold Congo and pet him. Congo loves all the attention from the children. He also talks to the children, and they all start laughing. Congo gets very excited when he is around the children.
Will always takes pictures of the children and Congo together. One of the children gave him a necklace made out of shark's teeth. He loves his necklace. He gave the child a bunch of Congo's colorful feathers that he had been keeping. The children love feathers and make things out of them all the time.
Will has started a scrapbook of Africa. He tells his mother that he wants to go on an African safari so he can take pictures of the lions, zebras, elephants, and other wild animals in Africa. His mother promises him that she will take him on a safari soon.
Some of the children and adults from the tribe are getting ready to go down to the river. Will asks his mother if he can go with them. Since there are adults with the children, she lets him go to the river with them. All of the adults carry spears with them. When Will gets to the river, he looks across the river and sees a jaguar! A jaguar is a huge cat that is a type of panther. They are tan with black spots and are just beautiful. The jaguar is at the edge of the river and watching something in the water. Suddenly, the jaguar dives into the river and within minutes he comes up with a crocodile in his mouth! Will could not believe his eyes! He started taking pictures of the jaguar and the crocodile. The crocodile was fighting for his life, but the jaguar won. The jaguar dragged the crocodile up the riverbank with his powerful jaws. What an amazing thing to witness! He had never seen anything so exciting in his entire life.
Africa was such a wild adventure for Will. He loved living in Africa. He loved all the animals and birds. There were so many different kinds of colorful birds in Africa. He began taking pictures of all of the birds for his scrapbook of Africa.
Will's mother took him on a safari one afternoon as she had promised him. He had the time of his life. He saw so many wild animals and loved every minute of the safari. He didn't want the safari to end. He took photographs of a huge hippo in the river, an elephant with her baby elephant, six zebras and a huge lion. He got to witness the lion chasing a zebra! He saw a group of vultures gathered all around and eating something. They also saw a bunch of Cape Buffalo, African Rhino, hyena and giraffe. They saw a cheetah zip past them running super fast after an antelope. Then they disappeared into the bushes. They looked up into a tree and saw a beautiful leopard resting in the tree! They got to see a pretty red fox that was watching them closely on top of some large rocks.
While Will was visiting with some of the children of a local tribe, a woman from the tribe came running out and screaming something over and over. Then he realized she was screaming, "Mamba! Mamba!" One of the men from the tribe grabbed his spear and went after the Black Mamba. The Black Mamba is a huge poisonous snake of Africa and is one of the most dangerous snakes in Africa. Everyone in Africa fears the Black Mamba. The man killed the Black Mamba with his spear before it bit anyone. All of the tribe members began to cheer for him. Will watched them as they cleaned the snake and cooked him over an open fire. Then everyone ate the snake. They handed him a bite to taste it. He ate the piece of snake and he thought it was very good. Now he can say that he has eaten snake. He thought it tasted like chicken.
The Puff Adder is Africa's deadliest snake. The Puff Adder has killed more people than any other snake. The Puff Adder has large fangs and its venom is powerful enough to kill a grown man with just one single bite!
There was a powerful storm, and giant waves were crashing onto Mystic Island in the middle of the sea. A large ship was torn apart by the huge storm, and items from the ship started washing up on the beach of the magical island. Mystic the mermaid lived on the island along with three other mermaids. After the storm passed over, Mystic looked towards the sea and saw a crib floating. Then she heard crying coming from the crib! She swam out to the crib and found a little baby girl there. She swam back to the island holding the crib. All of the mermaids gathered around the baby. They thought the little baby was so sweet, and it was a miracle that she was alive.
Two of the mermaids swam out to look for the ship and see if there were any people lost at sea. They could not find the ship because it had already sunk. They did not find any people in the sea. They swam back to the island.
When Mystic was on the island, her tail would split and turn into human legs! When this happened, she could walk like a human. Mystic was very beautiful and had long green hair. Her pretty green eyes would sparkle in the sun. When Mystic was swimming in the sea at night, her tail would glow green in the dark! All of the tails of the other mermaids would glow in the dark too! The mermaids could all walk when they were on land. Each mermaid looked different. One mermaid with dark red hair, green eyes and a green tail was named Mena. Another mermaid with blue hair, pretty blue eyes and a greenish blue tail was named Eva. The other mermaid had black hair, green eyes and a silver tail. Her name was Zanita. All of the mermaids were very beautiful.
Mystic named the little baby girl Ava. Mystic raised Ava on the island. She taught Ava how to swim when she was very young. All the fish and creatures of the sea that lived close to the island knew that Ava was Mystic's child. The sharks would not harm Ava when she swam in the sea as long as she was with her mother or another sea creature. Ava's mother had always told her to never swim alone. Ava had a favorite friend that she loved. He was a dolphin named Kissimmee. Kissimmee would pull Ava all around the island while she held on tight to his fin. Kissimmee would put shows on for Ava all the time. Kissimmee would jump up out of the water and then dive back down. He could swim super fast too! Kissimmee was very sweet and gentle.
Ava loved swimming in the sea. She had a lot of friends in the sea. Ava swam in the sea with her friends every single day. She became a very good swimmer.
At night, the sea would light up with all the different colors of the sea creatures that glowed in the dark! It was so beautiful! Some of their lights would even blink on and off. That was Ava's favorite time to swim in the sea because she loved watching the light show. She could not believe the different sizes, shapes and colors of all the jellyfish.
Sea Tiger the tiger shark and Kissimmee the dolphin would always try to protect Ava from any sea creatures that might come from far away. Ava thought that Sea Tiger's stripes were so pretty. There was a huge whale shark that Ava would always see swimming around the island. The whale shark had pretty white spots on it. The whale shark would let Ava pet it! Ava loved to watch two large killer whales that would come around every now and then. The killer whales were black and white, and Ava thought they were so beautiful.
One day, Ava snuck out by herself to go swimming on the other side of the island when she came upon a large group of jellyfish. One of the jellyfish stung her! She screamed and swam back to the island crying. Her mother rubbed some sand from the island on the wound. The wound stopped hurting her, and then it disappeared! The sand from the island was magical and had healed her! After that happened, she always swam with her mother or Sea Tiger and Kissimmee.

Gidget, Pebbles and Nicki are three beautiful female Yorkshire Terriers. People often call them Yorkies for short.
Gidget is our first Yorkie; we got her when she was only eight weeks old! Gidget is very sweet and gentle. She has a great personality, and she loves everyone. She especially loves children. She is beautiful and smart. We love her so much. Gidget is very playful; she loves to play with our shoes! I can't believe it but she even smiles! Gidget's mother, Ginger, smiles too and she also has a sweet personality! Gidget brings so much joy to our family. We decided we want another Yorkie!
My friend, Lisa, has a male Yorkie that is the smallest and cutest male Yorkie I have ever seen! His name is Tommy. We let Gidget and Tommy meet. Gidget and Tommy fall madly in love with each other. Gidget becomes pregnant but she isn't showing very much. Everyone that comes over to my house says they don't think that Gidget is even pregnant. I know that she is pregnant. I can feel the puppies moving around in her stomach. She is having morning sickness too. She isn't eating very much this week so I know she doesn't feel well. A couple of months pass. Gidget still doesn't look like she is pregnant and she is full term! I put my hand on her stomach and I can really feel the puppies moving around a lot now. I am watching Gidget closely, and waiting for the puppies to be born. I am very excited and I can't wait for her to have her puppies. I don't know what to expect; I have never been around an animal that was pregnant. This is all new to me. Sixty-four days have passed; it is time for Gidget to have her puppies!
I am home alone and I think Gidget is in labor! I ask other people what to expect and what to look for when she is in labor. They tell me that she will start acting strange and probably go hide somewhere. They say that she will start panting once her labor pains become stronger, and it is close to the time she will have her puppies. They also tell me that she may cry a little bit. They also say that she will probably roll over on her side.
Gidget starts acting strange. She runs into my son's room and disappears. I search for her in there. I find her behind all of his teddy bears! I take her to the area that I have prepared for her to have her puppies. I give her a little yellow duck toy that is her favorite. She puts the toy in her mouth and starts biting down on it. I think she is having labor pains! I start petting her and trying to keep her calm. She drops the toy out of her mouth and starts panting. Then she picks up the toy again and starts biting down on it. I keep watching and waiting for her to have her puppies! She cries a little bit off and on. I feel so bad for her. Hours go by and she hasn't had any puppies. Uh oh! I know something must be wrong. She should have had at least one puppy by now.
