HONOR AND REMEMBER
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States when we remember all the men and women who died while serving in our country’s armed forces.
I have the utmost respect for those who hear their country’s call and choose to selflessly serve. It’s good to have a day to pause and remember. I also want to thank the families and friends of those who have served. How hard it must be to send a child or spouse to a service post, let alone into battle. Thank you!
My heart is full of pride and respect, but I am going to use the words of others to augment what I am feeling.
First, the words in the poster at the beginning of this post are by a Canadian writer, John Fioravanti. I read about him at Sally’s Cafe and Bookstore. I encourage you to get to know Sally and the many authors and writers she features. John Fioravanti has taught high school history for their-five years, has written fiction and non-fiction and maintains three blogs. Learn more about John. I thank John for his positive words about the United States.
God Bless our Troops

I have repeated Rafael’s post about our service people and veterans several times. I know you will be moved as you read it again this year. He asks,
“How do you thank someone for putting themselves in harm’s way and being laid to rest with an American flag draped over their coffin?”
Make this Memorial Day special. Take action and get involved… And remember, honoring and
