Universal Orlando Resort and Harry Potter's Hogwarts Express

Hi! We’re Candy and Crystal. We’re sisters who grew up as military brats and spent the first half of our lives in Japan. The majority of our family resides in Japan, but we ventured out and have spent the second half of our lives mainly in the United States. We both love traveling and have always documented our travels, so we decided it was time to share our travel experiences with the rest of the world.

My friend, Mariko, was coming to visit me from Canada and since she's a huge Harry Potter fan, I thought it was the perfect time to visit Universal Orlando Resort. I've been wanting to ride the Hogwarts Express ever since it opened a few years ago and I'm not even a Harry Potter fanatic. I've been on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride before and was super impressed with how innovative it was, so I was excited to see what they created with the newest Harry Potter additions.

In order to ride the Hogwarts Express, we had to purchase the Park-to-Park ticket that gives you access to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks. If you want to skip the lines, you can purchase the Universal Express Pass or the Universal Express Unlimited for an additional fee. Since we were staying at the Royal Pacific Resort, we got the Universal Express Unlimited for free and it was awesome. Another bonus we got from staying at the on-site resort was early access to the park which we took full advantage of.

We started the day at 8 AM, an hour before the park opened and headed straight to the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. This is a fun ride that uses new technology and we loved it but Mariko got a little nauseous afterwards. If you're prone to motion sickness, this may not be the ride for you. I was fine, but I could see how this can make you a little dizzy or sick afterwards. There's a lot of twists and turns and the screen is right in front of you.

After our first ride, we took the Hogwarts Express to Universal Studios. This is what we were most excited about and it
