War Demons: A review

Born in Turlock, California in 1964, Richard Paolinelli began his writing career as a freelance writer in 1984 in Odessa, TX and gained his first fiction credit serving as the lead writer for the first two issues of the Elite Comics sci-fi/fantasy series, Seadragon.

Michael Alexander has returned from Afghanistan, where he sought vengeance for his fiancée – one of many lost in the Twin Towers on 9/11 – and found only more death and misery.

6313ea67-552b-422b-88d0-1c74e4b000d0Now medically discharged from the Army after a copter crash and a bizarre encounter in a cave with a strange creature that killed his friend, Michael is seeking answers to what he saw that awful night and why his dead friend now haunts him back home in the States.

What Michael finds is a world of mythical monsters that are all too real and some of them are now hunting him. In a thrilling, keeping-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat swirl of military action, hand-to-hand combat and the revelation of long-held dark secrets, Michael teams up with a band of soldiers and holy warriors to defeat an evil wizard hell-bent on destruction.

Fighting their way through hordes of vampires, zombies, golems and even an honest-to-god fire-breathing dragon, a final betrayal is revealed and a new Knight takes up the cause of defending humanity from the forces of evil.

This appears to be the first installment of what promises to be an epic fantasy series and I can’t wait to dive back into this incredible world Newquist has created. I was provided an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I can honestly say it is a 5-Star Special that you must read.
