This column is dedicated to one of the highest art forms in the sphere of human communication—Poetry. Nothing is nobler than the expression of human emotion. All poetry is perfect, no matter what the format or the background of the poet. A voice is a voice. With poetry, you get more than words. You get rhythm, you get sound, you get silence, you get mood—you get emotion. What more can you ask? This column is also dedicated to all the people who have ever lived, those here now, and those yet to come. God bless the poets among you. They carry the soul of the world.

Crumbs - The taken-for-granted byproducts of living exist around us. Although the important things in our life demand our attention, the crumbs we create help define us.

The tiny pieces on the counter, on the floor

Ever so slight but demanding gathering, sweeping, picking

Specks of lint and coffee grounds

Toast particles, banana strings

The glint of a piece of broken wine glass

A curl of dust hiding in the corner

And more particles than one can identify

Appearing continuously, waiting for removal

An endless river of crumbs

Running through every household

A residue of the lives lived within

On course for recycling in the universe
