This column is dedicated to one of the highest art forms in the sphere of human communication—Poetry. Nothing is nobler than the expression of human emotion. All poetry is perfect, no matter what the format or the background of the poet. A voice is a voice. With poetry, you get more than words. You get rhythm, you get sound, you get silence, you get mood—you get emotion. What more can you ask? This column is also dedicated to all the people who have ever lived, those here now, and those yet to come. God bless the poets among you. They carry the soul of the world.

The one who first takes the chance to try something new deserves our highest respect. Facing failure is not something people take to naturally. Yet, once the new becomes established, we build on the foundation—as is if it had always been there. Pioneers are the innovators of progress. The rest of us are content.

Take me to the edge and make me look
At something new, something unexplored
Let me see what you have seen,
Let me hear what you have heard

Let me know what you have learned
Let me follow you beyond the boundaries of
the usual and the comfortable

I cannot go there by myself
I need you to lead me
You have taken the risk that I could not take
You have abandoned the restraint that feeds the expected

No gratitude can compensate for the art you have created,
For the journey to the edge
Where others will follow, knowing it’s safe
To walk the fields you have plowed.
