Joy Appleby, Editor / Proofreader / Author
Your words, your way - only better.
The written word is my passion.
I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. Reading literately saved my life and my sanity by showing me worlds beyond what I was surviving. The world of words opened up my imagination and helped create my ability to imagine that anything is possible.
I am an author-in-process and have a literary project of my own started. I know the challenges and pitfalls of writing and can help encourage and support others in their development.
I realized my gift to find and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation when I found myself finding the errors in everything – even flyers posted on public boards.
Although I always earned A’s in all my subjects in academia, I always knew how to correctly use language without referencing rules of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
As the Editor-In-Chief of a Computer Users Group monthly publication in Silicon Valley during the boom, I worked with and mentored several writers, illustrators and editors while we all had fun working together.
I am continually adding new services and building my skills and connections in the writing community to improve myself. Communication and connection are very important.
Due to the wondrous Internet I am able to serve anyone who needs my services around the world through Internet, phone and Skype communication. Editing and proofreading are done using MS Word and its Track Changes feature.
I accept manuscripts in all genres including, but not limited to, the following: mystery, suspense, sci-fi, romance, young adult, historical fiction, literary fiction, non-fiction, memoirs.
I look forward to working with you soon.
